If you’ve finally caught your breath after the Germany Sail Grand Prix in Sassnitz just under a month ago, prepare yourself for more of the same this weekend as SailGP’s fleet moves on to the French Riviera and more precisely Saint-Tropez, for the ROCKWOOL France Sail Grand Prix.
Taking place on September 12/13, 2025, this is a key event on the calendar with the race for international glory, not to mention the small matter of $12.8 million in bonus prize money awaiting the winning heroes who race faster, wiser, and in greater unity than their rivals.
Make no mistake: these are the elite athletes of the racing world going sail-to-sail in one of the most daring, dramatic, and high stakes sporting events on the planet.
The fleet will be in action on deep, blue French waters across a two-day racing schedule with the usual qualifying races on Friday just the Entrée for Saturday’s main course of the winner-takes-all Grand Final between the top three from qualifying.
Tickets to ROCKWOOL France Sail Grand Prix SOLD OUT
If you wanted further evidence of the growing popularity of the Rolex SailGP Championship, how it’s taken the racing world by storm and the interest in this particular event, then consider this: it’s sold out.
Tickets to the ROCKWOOL France Sail Grand Prix disappeared as quickly as top tables at Saint-Tropez’s famous fine dining restaurants for Saturday night bookings, with locals and racing fans from all over the world wanting to catch a glimpse of F50 catamarans traveling at speeds in excess of 100km/hour. If the Rolex SailGP Championship is home to many of the world’s best athletes ever to have stepped on a boat, then it’s also home to some of the fastest boats ever to hit the open seas, those F50s taking 10 years to be developed into what they are today.
But if you’ve missed out on those ROCKWOOL France Sail Grand Prix tickets, worry not because there are other ways to follow the action. To find out how you can follow the action from wherever you are in the world, click here [https://sailgp.com/general/how-to-watch].
If just watching it all isn’t quite enough for you, then you’ll be glad to know the latest betting odds ahead of the event are now out, and they may surprise some.
France SailGP Team Led Last Victory in Sassnitz
The France SailGP Team is fresh from winning the Germany Sail Grand Prix, a victory that catapulted them into fifth place in the overall standings. They’re also on home waters, of course, with driver Quentin Delapierre in a defiant mood after that win, in a season that started off in the worst possible way but has gotten increasingly better.
“This season has been hard for us, but we keep fighting,” Delapierre said. “Trust me, it’s not easy to keep watching teams racing when you’re stuck on the shore. It’s not a feeling we enjoyed, but it is what it is.”
Not only are his team “super motivated”, his words, not ours, but naturally, this event has a special meaning for the 33-year-old Vannes native.
“There are two Grands Prix that stand out for me every season – Sydney, and Saint-Tropez. The ambience is amazing, the energy is super good. I want to hear the fans shouting for us and pushing us super hard. And if we have a good result, it will be the cherry on the cake.”
Odds Favoring the BONDS Flying Roos as Favorite
A good result is one thing but the Sportsbooks don’t fancy them to win it. Because, here’s the surprise: despite last month’s performance and home advantage, France are out at odds of 8.7 to be the Event Winner.
Those Sportsbooks are instead trusting the competition’s overall leaders to get the job done in Saint-Tropez. The BONDS Flying Roos is the 3.33 favorite to win after a runner-up spot in Germany put them at the top on 61 points, even despite the tie. The team tied with them at the top, the Black Foils SailGP Team, is the second-favorite at 4.55, with the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team next at 4.33.
