SailGP 2025 Season Final, Odds to Win Day 2 and Championship: Emirates GBR still Favorites for Grand Final Glory

No changes at the Top After Saturday’s Racing

There were no shortage of upsets at the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sail Grand Prix 2025 Season Grand Final, presented by Abu Dhabi Sports Council, on Saturday, but when all was said and done, there wasn’t much in the way of change in terms of the odds to win the 2025 Rolex SailGP Championship.

While the Championship leaders were struggling in tricky conditions with little or no wind throughout the day, the ROCKWOOL Racing SailGP Team were enjoying those conditions, securing two race wins, with the Germany SailGP Team Presented by Deutsche Bank and the Switzerland SailGP Team, also securing one race win each.

So it’s ‘as you were’ in terms of the betting for the Championship, with the latest odds exactly the same as they were going into the event: the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team are the favorites at 2.5, the Black Foils SailGP Team and the BONDS Flying Roos SailGP Team are both available at 2.9, with Los Gallos SailGP Team still the 71.4 chances they were before Saturday’s action got under way.

BONDS Flying Roos Still Favorites to Make Grand Final

Though the BONDS Flying Roos had a disappointing day out on the water on Saturday by their high standards, they benefited from Los Gallos not having the greatest of days either, so the Aussies are still hot favorites to make Sunday’s Grand Final, at the expense of the Spanish.

Emirates GBR, the Black Foils and the BONDS Flying Roos SailGP Team – assuming they make it – will already be thinking about Sunday’s Grand Final but there’s still an event win up for grabs before we get to that stage. And the odds suggest it won’t be any of those three securing it.

With two fleet race wins already in Abu Dhabi and 37 points on the board, ROCKWOOL Racing are the hot favorites at just 1.37 to win the event, with the Switzerland SailGP Team seen as their closest rivals at 4.17, after their win in Race 4 helped them get up to second place on 29 points.

Somewhat surprisingly it’s the Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team, who have had their challenges this season, in third place, but the bookies are giving them no better than a 22.22 chance to win the event, the same odds as for Red Bull Italy and NorthStar.

Bookies Refuse to Write off Tom Slingsby

It’s been a tough first day for Tom Slingsby and his BONDS Flying Roos, with a fifth place in Race 4 and an eighth place in Race 3 the best results Slingsby has to show for his efforts so far. Still, the bookies have seen enough of him over the years to not be taking any liberties when it comes to who they think will win the all-important Race 5 on Sunday.

The BONDS Flying Roos have been chalked up as 6.25 favorites, with Emirates GBR available at 7.14, the same price as the Black Foils.

The odds-compilers have, however, taken note of the strong performances from ROCKWOOL Racing in these low-wind conditions and are showing them plenty of respect, making them 8.0 chances to win Sunday’s opening race.

Value-seekers may, however, be interested in the 2.01 about the Black Foils outperforming their Aussie rivals in Race 5 in the head-to-head market.

They finished above them in the first two races on Saturday and are eighth to the BONDS Flying Roos’ eleventh in the event standing, so you could argue the Kiwis have been the better team so far in Abu Dhabi.

But as we know, there are no certainties in SailGP.
