Updated SailGP Odds to Win: KPMG Sydney, Feb. 28, 2026

There are priceless points, glory, and prize money – USD $400,000 for the event winner – up for grabs when the racing resumes on Sunday at the KPMG Sydney Sail Grand Prix.

But who do the bookies think will be walking away with the 10 points from Race 5? And who do they think will win the event as a whole?

BONDS Flying Roos SailGP Team the Team To Beat in Sunday’s Final

“Perth was amazing, but Sydney is really important to us. If you could choose any event in the world to win, it would be Sydney for us. That’s our focus now.”

Those were the words of the BONDS Flying Roos’ driver Tom Slingsby, in the aftermath of their win at the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix | Auckland a couple of weeks ago.

Slingsby may just get his wish. Their odds of 3.17, which in terms of implied probability translates to 31.5%, suggest they’re the team most likely to be spraying the champagne at the end of Sunday’s final.

Next in the betting are Los Gallos SailGP Team at 3.25. There’s a very good reason why they’re the second favorites, available at a shorter price than the current champions of Rolex SailGP Championship, the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team: Los Gallos are top of the standings after Saturday’s racing.

You can’t win the event without being in the final, and with 32 points, four clear of the Australians in second, Los Gallos are in an excellent position to make said final.

Patience and playing the percentages were the name of the game for Diego Botin on Saturday, and they were both richly rewarded.

Dylan Fletcher and his Emirates GBR Team are next in the betting to win the Sydney event at 4.38, but currently in fourth, they have work to do just to make the final, let alone win it.

But the Brits have been in similar positions before going into Sunday’s racing, as recently as the Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix in the opening race of the season, and they went on to win that one.

Los Gallos are 1.11 to contest the final. At 1.52, Emirates GBR are expected to join them, with the Australians the shortest price of the lot at 1.08 to be in the Top 3 at the end of the fleet races.

Winning a SailGP event is never easy, and winning the first one as a team is even less so, but the Artemis SailGP Team is well-placed to do just that. They’re currently third in the standings after the first four races, and the bookies are laying odds of 6.57 that they secure their maiden SailGP event win this weekend.

Conditions Mean Outsiders Are In the Hunt in Race 5

The first race of the day on Sunday will help paint a much clearer picture of who can make that big final later on in the day, and it’s the usual suspects heading the betting.

Emirates GBR, whose best result so far this event has been fourth in Saturday’s first race, are the joint-favorites at 3.85, alongside the Australians, with Los Gallos 7.87 and the ROCKWOOL Racing SailGP Team just behind them at 9.72.

But these are very unusual conditions for Sydney at this time of year, and the team that foils first could end up being the team that’s first past the post.

With that in mind, this could be a race to side with the outsiders.

The Red Bull Italy SailGP Team has had an impressive event so far and is in fifth, so it’s pretty surprising that only one team – the United States SailGP Team – is bigger in the betting than them to take Sunday’s opening race.

Red Bull Italy is 19.99, the Americans are 22.21.
