Australia
The Australia SailGP Team won the Impact League's first major focus area in Season 4 - the Race to Zero Waste. Australia impressed with its innovative solution to reduce single use plastics from emergency on-water repairs. The team created an alternative front fairing which completely will eliminate the need for disposal materials from emergency fairing repairs.
Switzerland
At the Spain Sail Grand Prix in Cadiz Team Switzerland organised and hosted the inclusive WE Foundation SailGP One Sport race, supported by World Sailing and RS Sailing. The race was completed by 10 inclusive sailors who were each paired with 10 SailGP sailors from across different teams in an RS Venture boat. The race was all about facilitating and increasing the probability for equal opportunities across sailing.
Emirates GBR
This season, Emirates GBR has put in place a renewable energy installation with Low Carbon. The system features solar panels that can provide enough clean energy to power nearly 13K fridge freezers for a whole day – the equivalent of a reduction of 4 tonnes of CO2e. The installation will travel with the Emirates GBR base to all locations across the upcoming season as its goal is to emulate last season’s success of making the podium in the Impact League, with their eyes on first place.
