The countdown to the 2022 eSailGP Championship is on, with the virtual racing championship set to kick off alongside the on-the-water racing in Bermuda on May 14-15.

Registration to enter the annual eSailing competition is open, with all players holding a Virtual Regatta account eligible to sign up.

Held in partnership with Virtual Regatta and World Sailing, the virtual championship will run in tandem with the on-the-water action, kicking off in Bermuda on May 14-15 and concluding with a winner-takes-all Grand Final in San Francisco in May 2023.

Nine qualifying matches with eight players battling it out across 13 races will take place at each event of Season 3, with the winner of each qualifier earning a place in the eSailGP Grand Final in May 2023.

The Grand Final will be hosted in-person during the Season 3 Grand Final in San Francisco. It will consist of five fleet races followed by the all-important eSailGP Grand Final.

The winner of the Season 3 SailGP Championship will secure a place in the eSailing World Championships in 2023 as well as earning a 6th sailor experience on an F50 catamaran and hospitality passes for a SailGP event in Season 4.

Mike O’Donovan, winner of the 2020 eSailGP Championship, encouraged new recruits to sign up and race. “eSailGP is coming back with Season 3 - if you want to have a chance to ride on the F50 make sure to get onto Virtual Regatta and compete in the upcoming events.”
