SailGP fans have predicted the top three teams they think will make the podium in Plymouth as the nine strong F50 fleet prepares to go head to head on the waters of Plymouth Sound.

Tom Slingsby’s Australia dominated, picking up 41% of the vote for first place, followed by home favourites Great Britain, which was voted into second place with 38% of the vote. Phil Robertson’s Canada meanwhile, which has so far picked up two podium finishes this season alongside Great Britain, was voted into third.

Newcomer team Switzerland meanwhile picked up the fewest votes to make the podium, despite taking on former Japan driver Nathan Outteridge as sailing advisor in Plymouth.

It comes after the teams sized each other up during practice racing on Friday. The three practice races produced three different winners; New Zealand, Great Britain and Australia.
