SailGP has touched down in the iconic city-state of Singapore ahead of the eighth event of Season 3 this weekend.

The tech base and team containers have been built and the the teams’ nine flying F50s assembled as final preparations continue ahead of racing on January 14 & 15.
Tech base and media tours have been underway this week ahead of the F50s hitting the water for the first time on Thursday to take full advantage of the limited training time.

Practice racing will follow on Friday before the teams go to battle on Saturday and Sunday in a six fleet racing format.
The three teams at top of the leaderboard after fleet racing will progress into the winner-takes-all Final and compete for the Singapore Sail Grand Prix event title.

Two-time defending champions Australia currently sit at the top of the leaderboard with 60 points and a comfortable nine-point lead ahead of the Kiwis in second place.
But there is just one point separating New Zealand in second and France in third.

The pressure will also be on Great Britain, Denmark, Canada and the United States to make their mark on the leaderboard as May's San Francisco Grand Final approaches.
