Now in its third season, SailGP and BWA Yachting’s Adrenaline Yacht Program is attracting an increasing community of superyachts to events throughout the superyacht calendar.

Boasting an unprecedented and exclusive viewing experience for superyacht owners and their guests, the program guarantees yachts a premium position on the racecourse boundary, as well as a private tour of the Tech Base and opportunities to meet SailGP athletes, network with fellow superyacht owners and visit the Adrenaline Lounge after racing to personally toast the winning team.

As SailGP has grown, so too has the Adrenaline Yacht Program, which proved especially popular at the Range Rover France Sail Grand Prix. The glamorous backdrop of Saint-Tropez, one of the world’s most premium yachting destinations, attracted a sell-out audience of superyachts including the 82.5m Savannah and 89m Here Comes The Sun. Elsewhere this season, motor and sailing yachts measuring 50m - 89m built by the likes of Amels, Baltic Yachts, Feadship, Perini Navi, Oceanco and Vitters have flooded to SailGP events for the ‘absolute best view’ of the racecourse, according to BWA Yachting Chief Business Development Officer Laura Esteve.

Season 3 // BWA Superyacht Program // Spectators on board superyacht

“On board a superyacht as part of the Adrenaline Yacht program, participants get the absolute thrill of literally seeing, hearing and feeling the groundbreaking F50s fly in front of their deck… you can even see the concentration etched on the athletes’ faces. The personal interaction between Adrenaline Yacht participants and F50 athletes tells an equally amazing story of just how fun and special SailGP truly is,” she says. “There’s simply nothing else quite like it on the water today.”

Season 3 // BWA Superyacht Program // Saint Tropez with superyachts

Alongside all the racing action, the Adrenaline Yacht Program provides a bustling social calendar, including at least one exclusive owners’ event at each racing weekend. In Saint-Tropez, the weekend kicked off with an exclusive welcome cocktail party on board Savannah with fellow superyacht owners, athletes and SailGP personalities on the invite list.

Further social events took place across the weekend, including a second cocktail party and a gala dinner, meaning superyacht owners and their guests ‘left Saint-Tropez as friends,’ Esteve says. The result, she adds, is that ’every single boat in the program falls in love with SailGP and all come back’.

Looking back on Season 3 so far, Esteve reflects on the ‘stunning fleet of superyachts’ that have already attended and is looking forward to welcoming more in Dubai, Singapore, Sydney, Christchurch and San Francisco. Private owners who prefer to steer clear of the limelight need not worry, she says - the program caters for both ‘owners who want exposure’, with stunning shots of their superyachts against the iconic backdrops of SailGP’s racing destinations, and owners ‘who are private and don’t want to be exposed’. “We can give a spotlight to a vessel and we can also offer a very discreet experience.”

So how can superyacht owners get involved?

Almost all events on the SailGP calendar run the Adrenaline Yacht Program, with some exceptions. Yachts over 20m are welcomed into the Program and should get in touch with l.esteve@bwayachting.com for details of SailGP Adrenaline Yachts membership and how to get involved.
