France’s transformation into a real contender for the Season 3 title has been captured in the latest episode of Racing on the Edge.

The new episode of the league’s behind-the-scenes docuseries focuses on France driver Quentin Delapierre, who joined the team mid-way through Season 2 after a disappointing end to his Olympic campaign.

As Delapierre adapts to the short-course stadium racing of SailGP, he makes some fundamental changes to the team line-up, including the recruitment of wing trimmer Kevin Pepponnet.

The episode shines a spotlight on France’s impressive trajectory, which saw the team pick up its first ever event win at Season 3’s Spain Sail Grand Prix before securing a second place finish at the Dubai Sail Grand Prix in November. Now, the team sit in third place on the overall Championship leaderboard behind Australia and New Zealand.

Reflecting on the team’s journey since he took over as driver, Delapierre said: “When I came, the energy of team France was quite low, the team was exhausted to underperform so we tried to inject some good energy, some good collaboration and also my trust into them.”

Racing on the Edge features behind-the scenes-insight and up-close interviews with the Championship’s biggest personalities, including New Zealand’s Blair Tuke and Peter Burling, Australian driver Tom Slingsby and driver of Great Britain, Ben Ainslie.
