France driver Quentin Delapierre has admitted ‘everyone’ on the team made ‘big mistakes’ in Chicago, after the team finished in 6th overall.

The French picked up inconsistent fleet racing results of 7-3-9-9-3, which meant Chicago was their worst result since Singapore in Season 3, where they finished in 8th.

Speaking after racing, Delapierre said the event was ‘not at our level’, adding ‘we can do better’.

“We made so many mistakes inside the race area and it came from everyone on board - everyone made big mistakes.”

Despite this, Delapierre paid tribute to his crew. “I really like this group - everyone is able to put their hands up and say ‘that’s my fault and I will do better next grand prix’.”

He added that he was ‘not afraid’ ahead of next month’s inaugural Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix. “Finishing 6th is not a bad result - it’s a good average, but we have to push hard for the next grand prix.”
