The full crew line-up of newcomer team Germany has been announced ahead of racing in Chicago.
Two time Olympic bronze medallist Erik Heil and double Olympic champion Kahena Kunze had already been announced as the driver and strategist respectively.
Driver: Erik Heil
Wing Trimmer: Stuart Bithell
Flight Controller: James Wierzbowski
Grinder: Dan Morris
Grinder: Jonathan Knottnerus-Meyer
Grinder: Joe Sullivan
Strategist: Kahena Kunze
But now it can be revealed that former Switzerland wing trimmer Stuart Bithell joins the fledgling team in the same role, alongside SailGP veteran James Wierzbowski in flight control.
Elsewhere, Jonathan Knottnerus-Meyer, Dan Morris and Olympic rowing champion Joe Sullivan make up the team’s grinder contingent.
Speaking ahead of practice racing, driver Heil set out his intentions for the team’s debut event: “We want to bring our learning curve steeply upwards, work our way forward step by step. Maybe we can cause a surprise here and there. But all our concentration is first on ourselves and our progress.”
Germany will have its racing debut in Chicago where it will go up against the league leaders of Australia, New Zealand and Emirates GBR for the first time in a supercharged 10-team line-up.
