New Zealand’s Peter Burling has been put under the spotlight in SailGP’s Get to Know series ahead of his first ever home event - this month’s ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix | Christchurch.
Driver of the New Zealand SailGP Team, Burling reveals his first sailing memories, sporting inspiration and the name of the first boat he ever owned.
When asked what advice he would give to himself 10 years ago, Burling said: "Just keep having fun, keep enjoying it and see where it takes you.”
New Zealand currently sits second in the overall Championship behind Tom Slingsby's Australia and one point ahead of Quentin Delapierre's France in third.
