Emirates GBR strategist Hannah Mills has reflected on the team’s recent return to winning ways after Ben Ainslie’s crew picked up consecutive victories in Saint-Tropez and Taranto.
Speaking after racing, Mills said the team’s win in Saint-Tropez— which was her first with the team - was ‘a long time coming’.
It was also Emirates GBR’s first victory since Season 2 - with the team failing to convert Final appearances into event wins.
“The team has had a lot of big discussions over the last couple of months about how we work together, how we communicate, the boat handling, and getting all of that right is hard,” Mills explains.
However, after ‘lots of honest conversations’, the team is ‘on a really good trajectory now,’ she said.
Emirates GBR now sits in second overall on the Season 4 Championship leaderboard, tied on 29 points with Spain and behind Australia with 35.
Next up, the F50 fleet heads to Cadiz for the Spain Sail Grand Prix; the 5th event of Season 4.
