Peter Burling’s New Zealand has been tipped to pick up the Season 3 trophy and be crowned SailGP Champion ahead of the Grand Final showdown in San Francisco.

The Kiwis, who currently sit in second place overall, picked up nearly half of the vote (49.5%) in our pre-event poll, while Tom Slingsby's Australia was backed by 18.8% of the vote. Quentin Delapierre’s France, which currently sits in third place by a narrow one point margin, was voted third most likely to win the Grand Final, with 17.9% of the vote.

Heading into the Mubadala SailGP Season 3 Grand Final, two-time defending champions Australia are the only team to have qualified for the three-boat, winner-takes-all Grand Final.

Meanwhile, New Zealand will still have to deliver a decent fleet racing performance to retain its second place position. The stage is also set for a fierce battle between France and Ben Ainslie’s Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team to get into the Grand Final.
