The incredible, first-time victory of Diego Botin’s Spain on the waters of Los Angeles has been documented in the latest episode of SailGP’s behind-the-scenes docuseries Racing on the Edge.

The third episode of the season shines a spotlight on the inaugural Oracle Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix and gives a blow by blow account of the weekend’s racing action.

The five fleet races, which saw Spain enter a points battle with Phil Robertson’s Canada, are dissected, as well as the team’s confusion about whether Spain had made it into the three-boat Final.

Finally, the episode relives the excitement of LA’s Final, which saw Spain beat ROCKWOOL Denmark and Season 3 champions Australia.

Speaking about the team’s first ever win, Botin says: “Winning something is amazing, because it’s very hard to do, but winning with your people and seeing your people around you sharing that emotion with you is the best feeling you can ever have.”

With unmatched access into the league, Racing on the Edge features behind-the scenes-insight and up-close interviews with the Championship’s biggest personalities, including Australia driver Tom Slingsby, Emirates GBR driver Ben Ainslie and New Zealand’s dynamic duo Pete Burling and Blair Tuke.
