As SailGP looks ahead to the WASZP Grand Final - Championship of Champions in San Francisco next month, we shine a spotlight on each athlete set to battle it out for the ultimate prize.
Eve Kennedy was the top female from Season 3’s Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Plymouth and is gearing up to head to San Francisco with her eyes on a podium finish.
Kennedy first got involved with SailGP Inspire back in 2021 when she took part in the WASZP racing program. Inspired by her experience, she purchased her own WASZP to pursue her goal of qualifying for the WASZP Grand Final.
“I’ve been training since most weekends with the ultimate goal of getting into the Grand Final which I’ve now qualified for. I’m super excited to be heading for the Grand Final and I cannot wait to sail with the F50s,” she said.
Kennedy will go head to head against the best young male and female WASZP athletes from Season 3 on the iconic waters of San Francisco Bay.
Finishing top of the podium will provide a major springboard to the winners, who will receive the incredible experience of joining a SailGP team on board their F50 in Season 4.
