Which teams have won in Dubai so far?
SailGP visited Dubai in both Season 3 and Season 4, resulting in two different event winners. Season 3’s event saw Emirates GBR lead France and Australia for the majority of the three-boat Final before dramatically falling off the foils on the final turn. The British crew were overtaken by both teams - with Tom Slingsby’s Australia clinching the win in the final seconds.
Australia featured in the three-boat shootout of Season 4’s event Final too, going head to head with Canada and New Zealand. All three boats came together at the line, just centimeters from colliding and a last minute penalty took victory away from Canada despite the team crossing the line first. Instead, the win went to New Zealand, with Peter Burling’s crew narrowly beat the Aussies.
