The first F50s have hit the water to begin training ahead of this weekend’s Season 4 Grand Final in San Francisco.
Germany and home team the United States, both of which have an extra day’s training than the rest of the fleet, were seen practicing maneuvers and boat handling on San Francisco Bay.
It comes ahead of the rest of the fleet hitting the water on Thursday, July 10 for training, ahead of official practice racing on Friday.
Elsewhere, the Team Bases have been built and the F50s are being prepared ahead of official racing this weekend.
The entire F50 fleet will once again compete across five fleet races on July 13/14, before the top three ranked teams them proceed into the winner-takes-all Grand Final.
New Zealand is currently the only team to have qualified for the three-boat Grand Final, while Australia and Spain sit second and third.
But points are tight and a leaderboard reshuffle could be on the cards depending on fleet racing performances.
Racing begins at 2.30 PDT on July 13/14.
