Brazilian sailor Marco Grael has been unveiled as part of the Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team line-up.

Grael, who is brother to driver Martine Grael, joins as one of the team’s grinders and will compete for the first time on the 2024/25 Season start line.

Grael is only the second crew member to be announced of the fledging team, which will make its debut in Dubai this November. His career has so far seen him compete in the 49er class in the 2024 Paris, 2020 Tokyo and 2016 Rio Olympic Games. He also won gold in the 2019 Pan American Games with sailing partner Gabriel Borges.

“Marco represents not only the continuation of a dynasty in sailing but also a new era in the sport, uniting tradition and innovation at the highest level,” said the Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team in a statement.

The news comes after the team unveiled double Olympic champion Martine Grael as driver.
