The first teams have hit the water in Bermuda to begin crucial training ahead of this weekend’s racing.
The United States, Germany and Australia were all seen training on Bermuda’s Great Sound ahead of the full F50 fleet, which will size each other up during Friday’s practice racing for the first time.
The U.S. and Germany were seen practicing maneuvers, while the Aussies had a chance to try out their repaired F50, which sustained serious damage in Christchurch when the team hit a race mark.
The 10-strong F50 fleet will go head to head for the first time across three practice races on Friday before official racing begins on May 4.
A five fleet race schedule will propel the top three rated teams into the winner-takes-all Final, which will decide the race winner.
The Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix takes place on May 4/5
