Season 4 was packed with stunning race starts, with the fleet's best starters taking full advantage of spicy conditions to soar across the line to lead the fleet at Mark 1. We round up some of the best from across the 13-event calendar.

Australia, Canada and Emirates GBR blast over the line in Saint-Tropez

The first race on day two of Saint-Tropez got off to a flying start, with Australia, Canada and Emirates GBR blasting over the line. Emirates GBR secured the all-important inside line, allowing the British team to lead the fleet at Mark 1 and ultimately stretch ahead to win the race.

Emirates GBR went aggressive from the go as Saint-Tropez's Final got underway, hooking the Australians with match racing tactics and defending hard as the starting gun sounded.

Late to the line, Spain trailed as Emirates GBR and Australia crossed the line together.

Australia stuns in Taranto

Australia embraced the extremely breezy conditions of 37 km/h winds on the first day of Taranto to scream across the start line and extend to Mark 1. Ultimately, the Aussies took the lead and held on to win the race.

France take a run up in Christchurch

As racing got underway in Christchurch, it looked as if home town heroes New Zealand had sealed the best start. But at the top of the line, Quentin Delapierre's came roaring past the fleet, overtaking New Zealand and securing the inside track to Mark 1.

Australia gets Bermuda off to a perfect start

Another excellent start by Australia took place as racing in Bermuda got underway, with the Flying Roos taking advantage of the bigger start box to secure the best starting position of the whole fleet.

Spain nail Bermuda's Final start

Age old rivarly took precedence for Australia and New Zealand as the Final in Bermuda got underway, allowing Spain to sneak inside and steal the inside line from the Aussies. Ultimately, it was Diego Botin's young crew that raced to victory, leaving the Aussies and Kiwis in their wake.

New Zealand and Australia thread the needle in Halifax

Dramatic conditions in Halifax saw the most experienced teams excel, with the Kiwis and Aussies winding it up to thread the needle and blast across the line as racing got underway in Fleet Race 3.

France beat the fleet in Halifax

An incredible run up start from Quentin Delapierre saw the French F50 weave its way through the fleet to sneak behind New Zealand and take the inside line as Fleet Race 2 got underway.

France wind it up in San Francisco

Another incredible start by the French took place in San Francisco. With pressure on Delapierre's crew to qualify for the Grand Final, France perfected their race starts - exceeding speeds of 90 km/h when Fleet Race 2 got underway.
