Dressed for success: United States SailGP Team partners with Gill Marine

Sharing an ambitious new vision, the United States SailGP Team joins forces with Gill to pursue success in SailGP’s inaugural season.

SYDNEY, Feb. 15, 2019: The United States SailGP Team, competing in the new global championship, today unveiled an exciting partnership with Gill, the iconic marine clothing brand. Launched in 2018 under the stewardship of Larry Ellison, SailGP aims to redefine sailing with the fastest racing boats in the world going head to head in a nation-versus-nation competition.

As the ‘Official Apparel/Technical Clothing Partner,’ Gill will be supplying the U.S. team, skippered by Rome Kirby, with a cutting-edge range of clothing on and off the water. Tailored to each sailor and designed to withstand the elements, the stylish collection will allow the team to maximize performance and pursue victory in the championship in a range of conditions. Gill will also be designing a bespoke line of official United States SailGP Team merchandise for sale in 2019.

The partnership comes as Gill enters an ambitious new phase in the history of the company; following the acquisition of the US distribution business in 2018, the brand has undertaken a complete refresh of the marketing and consumer experience, online and instore. The company has also recently released its most technically advanced range of clothing ever; the current season includes the cutting-edge and stylish Race Fusion jacket that will be worn by the United States SailGP Team sailors.
