MARSEILLE, France – March 23, 2019 – Next-generation sailing fans from France and beyond are now able to book front-row spots on the Rade Nord (North Bay) of Marseille for the SailGP Season 1 Final. The must-see event will take place 20-22 September 2019, and tickets are available at SailGP.com/Marseille.
SailGP gathers six nations – France, Australia, China, Great Britain, Japan and the United States – competing in five events (Sydney, San Francisco, New York, Cowes and Marseille). In cooperation with the French Sailing Federation, Marseille will host the ultimate event of Season 1, featuring a US$1 million winner-takes-all finale to determine SailGP’s inaugural champion.
Highlighted by bold, cutting-edge technology and awe-inspiring athleticism, SailGP places the fans at the heart of the sport by offering a range of possibilities to enjoy the show.
“The France SailGP Team is looking forward to meeting the crowds in Marseille,” said France SailGP Team Helm Billy Besson. “It is going to be a spectacular competition – we are so lucky to be a part of it and to have the chance to navigate in this wonderful bay and to present our sport during those three days.”
On-Shore Experience – Marseille SailGP Race Village
The Marseille SailGP Race Village will be live during the three days of racing on the J4 esplanade, in front of the MUCEM. It will allow visitors to follow the event on big screen with live commentary.
