SailGP U.S. debut nears, tickets selling out

United States SailGP Team will make its home debut May 4-5 in San Francisco.

With San Francisco SailGP just over two weeks away, excitement and anticipation for the first U.S. stop of the international grand prix continues to grow. Race Village Plus tickets for the May 4 and 5 event are now officially sold out, however front-row seats to take in the thrilling action from the grandstand remain.

Not only will San Francisco SailGP offer the fastest on-water racing the world has ever seen, but fans will be able to take in the action in stadium seating literally on the water’s edge. Limited tickets are available for the SailGP Race Village Grandstand, which offers a hair-raising vantage point into the world’s newest sports league featuring racing machines ready to break speed records on San Francisco Bay.

In addition to being strokes away from the finish line, the Race Village Grandstand offers live race coverage and commentary, and dedicated amenities available for purchase. It’s a not-to-be-missed shore-side seat to sports history, and it won’t be available much longer.

Racing will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 12:30-2 p.m., and fans are encouraged to show their country pride and wear team colors. Whether rooting for the young and hungry United States SailGP Team as it takes to home waters for the first time, or one of the other five national squads – Australia, China, France, Great Britain or Japan – spectators will be treated to an entirely new form of sailing, sure to ignite the competitive spirit.

Located adjacent to the Presidio on the Marina Yacht Club Peninsula, the San Francisco SailGP Race Village is free and open to the public, offering a race viewing position between the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. The Race Village includes access to big screens showing live race coverage and commentary, concessions, the official merchandise shop, entertainment (including the awards ceremony and athlete appearances) and other activities.
