Aarhus, DENMARK - June 24, 2021 - With two months to go until the inaugural ROCKWOOL Denmark Sail Grand Prix - which will feature Nicolai Sehested’s Danish home team - tickets are now available for waterfront and on-water spectator programs taking place along the historic shoreline of Aarhus. Taking place on August 20-21, Fans can take in the heart-stopping nation-versus-nation competition spectacle of high-flying identical F50 foiling catamarans from the ultimate vantage points on land and sea and cheer on the home team,

Aarhus - known as The City of Smiles - plays host to the fourth of nine events on the pinnacle league’s expanded calendar for Season 2. As the summer heats up, so do old rivalries, and the welcome addition of SailGP newcomers - Spain and Denmark. Driven by one of Denmark’s leading sailors, Sehested - Denmark SailGP Team presented by ROCKWOOL - and his crew including Olympic medalists Katja Salskov-Iversen, Anne-Marie Rindom, and Martin Kirketerp are determined to make their debut at home a spectacular event.

After a brief hiatus to represent their home countries at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Denmark will see the return of its very own Anne-Marie Rindom as she rejoins Sehested and the Denmark SailGP Team presented by ROCKWOOL; and Peter Burling (driver) and Blair Tuke (wing trimmer) of New Zealand SailGP Team will be back aboard the Amokura to regain momentum in their campaign for top spot in the global championship. The Great Britain SailGP Team will see Ben Ainslie back in the driver seat after his temporary absence in Taranto (Italy), and Plymouth (U.K.) events.

The spectator viewing area in Aarhus will be located just a few meters away from the water’s edge, offering stunning views of the regenerated docklands area known as the Aarhus O. SailGP’s on-shore spectator program gives fans and soon-to-be fans multiple ways in which to take in the adrenaline-fuelled action. With three packages to choose from - Access, Premium, and VIP - the selection of experiences are designed to deliver the ultimate in weekend entertainment for all.

Waterfront Access - DKK 175 (incl fees) - includes live race commentary, big screens, concession stands, awards ceremony, and a dedicated Fan Shop retailing league and team merchandise, including must-haves such as caps, tote bags, limited edition event t-shirts and more.

Waterfront Premium - DKK 350 (incl fees) - gives fans an elevated position in the grandstand to watch the high-speed action. Situated in an exclusive part of the official spectator area, spectacular views of the Aarhus O, big screens and live race commentary will be enjoyed. Additional perks include access to premium concession stands and a fantastic, unobstructed view of the presentation stage for the awards ceremony.

Waterfront VIP - DKK 1,200 (incl fees) - is undoubtedly the quintessential place to be for any sailing enthusiast while on land. The ROCKWOOL Denmark Sail Grand Prix offers two exciting on-water spectator options - Access and Premium - ensuring the best positioning for viewing the races at the Aarhus O. As part of SailGP’s Race for the Future purpose-led agenda – as a climate positive sport making more impact than its footprint – SailGP will contribute the footprint of all registered boaters attending the event.

Boaters joining SailGP on the water can register at SailGP.com/Denmark/dk for free. Once completed, registrants will receive an e-newsletter with all the essential course details - race day course maps, weather, race schedules, safety guidelines - and access to live commentary available over VHF.

For those spectators wanting to get even closer to the action, a Bring Your Own Boat premium on-water package can be purchased for DKK 900, (including fees). Premium guests will enjoy prime view of the races, positioned by one of the high-speed turning marks, welcome pack including a souvenir flag to display, tote bag and cap plus live commentary.
