Trusted prediction market sites reviewed

All of our recommended prediction platforms are permitted in the US. Our list includes a mix of new prediction market sites, such as Plus500, and seasoned brands like Kalshi.

The best part of using these sites is that you can make your prediction trades on the go. Each of these brands has standalone apps, and many also have mobile websites.

Keep reading, as we have shared more insights from our experiences with these brands.

Polymarket – Use the dedicated apps to make predictions

Polymarket: Pros and Cons
  • Numerous markets on sports, crypto, the economy, and politics
  • Regulated by the CFTC
  • Multiple rewards for existing traders
  • Crypto payments only

Polymarket US is a regulated Designated Contract Market. The brand is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Currently, Polymarket is available across 36 US states, except Arizona, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Utah, and Washington.

At the time of writing, newcomers are welcomed with an exclusive reward. Once you register using the banner on this page and deposit $10, you will get a $25 bonus.

Unlike Kalshi and Plus500, we learned that prediction trading on Polymarket is only available via the dedicated apps. You can download the Android app from the Google Play Store and the iOS app from the Apple App Store. We noticed that there is no mobile-optimized website or desktop site for US traders.

We were pleased with the range of markets on Polymarket. The sports markets cover all major professional sports leagues. This includes SailGP. You can trade predictions for every featured race during the course of the year.

Besides SailGP markets, there are also several non-sports prediction contracts. We found plenty of volume and liquidity across economic, political, and climate markets.

Kalshi – Trade SailGP prediction markets on the go

Kalshi: Pros & Cons
  • Broad range of markets
  • 24/7 live chat support
  • Huge reputation
  • Native mobile app
  • Transaction fees

Similar to Polymarket US, Kalshi is also a CFTC-regulated Designated Contract Market. If it is your first time using the site, sign up with our banners. Then trade $25 to get a $55 bonus.

We also found several existing trader promos. One of our favorites is the market bug bounty. Here, if you find any mistakes on the site, you can share them with the team, and you may unlock some trading credits.

You can use your rewards for any market, including for SailGP. Interestingly, we observed that the SailGP contracts have limited liquidity. However, closer to the start of the event, there should be more market volume.

The range of prediction markets on Kalshi caught our eye. There are climate, crypto, culture, economic, sports and politics prediction contracts. For any of these markets, you can trade on the desktop website plus the mobile platforms. Unlike Polymarket, Kalshi has a mobile-optimized site. It mirrors both the desktop website and the standalone apps, so you should not have an issue finding specific events.

Plus500 – Quick and easy to open prediction contracts with your phone

Plus500: Pros and Cons
  • Exclusive welcome offer
  • Dedicated mobile apps
  • Responsive customer support
  • No existing prediction trader promos

Another brand that has both standalone apps and a mobile website is Plus500. Compared to Polymarket and Kalshi, Plus500 does not operate as a Designated Contract Market.

Instead, Plus500 is a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM). It is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and is a member of the National Futures Association.

Newbies can get a $20 bonus when trading $10. FYI, you need to be quick to claim this offer. It is only available to the first 5,000 new prediction traders.

Since Plus500 operates as an FCM, it has partnered with Kalshi to use the exchange. In our experience, the same markets on Kalshi are available on Plus500. This means that you can buy and sell contracts for all upcoming SailGP events, including the Dubai Sail event. For example, you can predict which team will win the Grand Prix.

We also suggest you track all SailGP events, as Plus500 does have live prediction trades. Closer to an event and depending on the liquidity, you may be allowed to trade predictions while the Grand Prix is happening.

How we rate prediction market apps

When we searched for the top apps, we used a selection criteria. This includes critiquing sites for trustworthiness, mobile options, market types, and banking platforms.

🤝 Trustworthiness

As we reiterated in our Novig review, you should use only trusted prediction apps. All of our suggested prediction sites are trustworthy and regulated. Prediction markets are regulated in the US by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Before joining any site, make sure you double-check the site’s regulatory status.

📱 Mobile options

You should prioritize sites that permit mobile prediction trading. While a mobile app is not a must, there should at least be a mobile-optimized website. Spend time testing the mobile platforms and see if the usability is on point. Markets should load quickly, and you should be able to find specific prediction contracts easily.

📊 Range of markets

The best brands will have a mix of markets. This way, you are not restricted to just a few categories. In our experience, keep an eye for six main future event markets: sports, climate, crypto, economic, culture and politics.

💳 Banking platform

There must be an encrypted banking platform with safe and secure payment options. This should cover payment methods such as e-wallets, bank transfers, and debit cards. Do not forget to check for any banking fees and that withdrawals are processed promptly. Also, remember to double-check that the platform is flexible for mobile payments. Verify that you can make payments on your phone without switching to a laptop.

You can use mobile sites and standalone apps

Whether you are using an eSports prediction market site or one focused on political markets, most platforms allow you to trade directly from your device. In our experience, there are two main mobile options: mobile-optimized websites and standalone apps.

Mobile-optimized website

We observed that a prediction site with a mobile website usually mirrors the desktop version. This means you have access to the same features, such as claiming the best prediction market bonuses, and opening positions directly with your phone.

To access a mobile website, you would need to open your web browser on your phone and enter the specific URL. FYI, make sure you have a strong internet connection. That way, the mobile website will load within seconds.

Standalone apps

Dedicated apps are a good option if you want to download and install the app directly on your device. Interestingly, some prediction sites are mobile-first. For example, Polymarket US can only be accessed via the Android or iOS app.

Usually, a prediction site will have both standalone Android and iOS apps. You can download these apps directly from the relevant App Stores. We recommend using sites that provide the same mobile app experience. Thus, regardless of whether you are using the Android or iOS app, you have access to the same core features.

We noticed that not every platform has dedicated apps on the Google Play Store or the App Store. Instead, there may be a Progressive Web App (PWA). A PWA works similarly to an app, but is a website that is enhanced with web technologies. You can install a PWA directly from the website without needing to search the App Store.

How to download an app and start trading

If you want to download a prediction market app, then there are a few steps to complete. In our experience, this process is split into two parts. First, install the app, then complete the registration.

Download and install the app

  1. Use the banners on this page to access our recommended prediction brands.

  2. Click the relevant icon on the site to download the iOS or Android app.

  3. You will be redirected to the relevant App Store.

  4. Download the specific app.

  5. Once the download is complete, install the app.

Creating a new account

  1. Open the app and click the Sign Up/Join/Register button.

  2. Enter your email address and create a password.

  3. Complete the registration form by filling your personal information. This includes your date of birth, mobile number and US state.

  4. Read and accept the T&Cs.

  5. Once your account is created, make a deposit to claim any sign up promos. Then browse the available prediction contracts and start trading.

Pros and Cons
  • Easy to use mobile-optimized website
  • Standalone mobile trading apps
  • Mobile platforms mirror the desktop version
  • Some sites do not have dedicated apps

Most prediction sites favor mobile use

It is good to see that many prediction platforms prioritize mobile trading. Today, it is common to find standalone apps and mobile websites. We enjoyed using both mobile options, as it was quick and easy to open and close prediction positions while out and about.

If you want to download an app, then make sure you have sufficient storage space. Also, avoid using your mobile device if you have limited connectivity. We noticed there may be lag or long loading times if your internet connection is unstable.

To buy and sell prediction contracts with your phone, we recommend using Polymarket, Kalshi and Plus500. Go ahead and use the relevant links or banners to register. Have fun browsing the markets on your smartphone!
