There’s a Robinhood transfer bonus waiting to be claimed if you move your financial assets from any US trading site to it. This bonus isn’t offered on ACH transfers but only transfers from a different brokerage account.
 
The bonus you get comes in the form of a percentage interest on your transferred funds, and it can go higher if you hold a Robinhood Gold subscription. What Is the Transfer Bonus on Robinhood?

Aside from knowing about Robinhood prediction markets review, it’s great to know about transfer bonuses on the site as well. It is simply a percentage reward you’ll receive when you switch your assets from other brokerage accounts to Robinhood.

Not all assets are accepted though. Joint and individual investing accounts, traditional IRAs, and Roth IRAs are accepted. But certain asset groups like trusts, or business and custodial accounts aren’t supported by Robinhood.

Transfers are made possible via the Automated Customer Account Transfer Service (ACATS). ACH transfers, that is, online bank transfers aren’t eligible as the funds must come from a brokerage account.

With that being said, the Robinhood transfer bonus comes in three ways: as a percentage interest on your assets, an additional 1% for transfers with a margin balance of $10,000, and as transfer free reimbursement. Let’s take a look at each.

Base Transfer Bonus: Get up To 2% if You’re a Gold Member

This is the reward you’ll receive for transferring your funds over to Robinhood. It’s a percentage of the total amount you’ve moved and what you get depends on whether you’re a Robinhood Gold member.

If you don’t have a Robinhood Gold subscription, you’ll get a 1% bonus on your total transfer. If you’re a Gold member, though, it is bumped to 2%.

So what’s the Robinhood Gold subscription? It’s simply a premium service that costs $5 per month or $50 if you’re paying annually.

It gives you access to perks like better investing tools, higher interest on IRA contribution matches, and margin benefits.

Take for example, you transfer $10,000 into your Robinhood account. You’ll receive $100 at the 1% rate if you don’t have a subscription. But if you do, that same transfer fetches you $200.

This bonus is calculated based on the net value of what you transfer, so don’t be tempted to move funds out and back in as it won’t count toward receiving the Robinhood transfer bonus.

Receive up To $75 Reimbursement on Transfer Fees

Robinhood fees aren’t charged for any of these transfers from an external brokerage platform. But if your previous brokerage charges you a fee to move your assets, Robinhood will refund it right up to $75.

That’s as long as the transfers are worth at least $7,500. You can claim it whether you’re transferring stocks, cash, or a combination of both through the ACATS system.

Enjoy an Additional 1% on Transfers of At Least $10,000

There’s also another margin bonus you can take advantage of. Your transfer just needs to be at a margin balance of at least $10,000 for you to collect an additional 1% on top of your base transfer bonus.

So, if you transfer $20,000 with a qualifying margin balance and have a Gold subscription, you could be receiving up to 3% in total bonuses. That’s $600 added to your account just for bringing your assets over to Robinhood.

How to Claim the Robinhood Transfer Bonus

It’s easy to claim this bonus as long as you’re at least 18 years old and have eligible funds. First, you’ll need to sign up for an account if you haven’t done so already. Here are the steps to follow to get the Robinhood transfer bonus:

  1. Click the corresponding banners on this page to visit Robinhood and click the sign up button at the top right

  2. Enter your details and verify your identity

  3. With an active Robinhood account already created, initiate the ACATS process on your the external brokerage

  4. Enter details of the trading site and account you’re transferring the funds from

How Long Does the Transfer on Robinhood Take?

When completed, you’ll receive a notification and your Robinhood transfer bonus will be awarded within two weeks. Remember that Robinhood fees don’t apply to asset transfers.
