WNBA All-Star Weekend gets underway in earnest on Friday, with some of the league’s most exciting individual talent set to take center stage at Chicago’s Wintrust Arena. The action will be followed closely on prediction market apps.
The game itself will bring Team Spoon, drafted by WNBA legend Teresa “T-Spoon” Weatherspoon, into competition with Team Coop, which is headed by two-time MVP Cynthia Cooper. Ahead of the game itself on Saturday, All-Star Friday will see the teams face off in skill contests which will be broadcast live as part of the lead-up to the big event.

The WNBA All Star Game brings two legends of the sport together as honorary GMs for the night: Teresa Weatherspoon and Cynthia Cooper, who were rivals in the first-ever WNBA Finals back in 1997. They were automatically assigned the top two vote-getters for the game, Team Coop getting #1 pick Paige Bueckers, and #2 Caitlin Clark going to Team Coop. The GMs then selected from the remaining All-Star pool to get their full rosters. Stars such as A’Ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston joined Clark on Team Coop, while Breanna Stewart and Kelsey Mitchell will be starters on Team Spoon.
