The NCAA football season gets underway for real this weekend and, for people in possession of a Kalshi promo code, there are endless intriguing matchups. Upwards of 80 games will be played over the three days from Friday to Sunday.
Most of the attention will, of course, be on the games featuring colleges considered likely to have a shot at the national championship and be involved in the bowl picture come the end of the regular season. And most of those high-ranked colleges will be kicking off their seasons this Saturday (5th September) in games they’ll be expecting to win.
College Football Saturday preview
Saturday’s action gets off the blocks at noon ET, and one of the first colleges to see action will be Alabama. The Crimson Tide welcomes East Carolina – but “welcomes” in the sense of “will almost certainly pulverise”. Kalshi traders see this as a blowout, with the market price currently fluctuating around $0.97 and the point spread sitting at -27.5.
The top-ranked college gets into the action just a half-hour later as Ohio State welcomes Ball State in a game that the best prediction market sites are seeing as an even more foregone conclusion. Kalshi currently sees them as favorites to the tune of $0.99, a price which is matched by #3-ranked Georgia. The Bulldogs kick off at 3 pm ET against Tennessee State. Both seeds here are among the very strongest favorites for Saturday’s games.
Also kicking off in the afternoon will be home games for Oregon (#2) and Texas (#5), who respectively play host to Boise State and Texas State. As our Kalshi review makes clear, the platform has long and extensive markets for sports, and these games will be actively covered, with prices for the home teams likely to remain in the high 90s in both games.
If you’re looking for a closer game, the best option may be the visit of unranked Clemson to LSU (#11). The home team is clearly favored, and with good reason considering their ranked status. But Clemson has a useful team and may upset the market, which currently prices LSU at $0.77 with Clemson at $0.23. If you want to back an underdog and could use the Kalshi promo code – or if you think LSU is underpriced, this could be your chance to make a smart trade.
NFL action draws ever nearer
This is the final weekend of the NFL offseason, and the regular campaign kicks off with a Wednesday game as Seattle makes the first step in defending its status as Super Bowl champions. In line with the top NFL prediction markets, Kalshi views Seattle as favorites with the runner-up from February’s title game, New England, arriving in town. Seattle is currently priced at $0.64 with the Patriots at $0.36. As the home side, the Seahawks are the obvious pick, but if you see revenge as a powerful incentive, then maybe it’s worth backing the Pats.
You might also choose to use your Kalshi sign up bonus to make a prediction on an outright market, with the prices now available for the overall 2027 Super Bowl Champions. The LA Rams are currently seen as the standouts, with $0.16 the most likely price when the market settles. That puts them as twice the force that the next two teams on the list, Buffalo and Seattle ($0.08), currently represent.
