How can I buy a ticket for SailGP?
Tickets can be purchased online at sailgp.com/cowes

How do I get my tickets?
Tickets will be emailed to you at the time of purchase and scanned on your
mobile device at the gates for fast entry.

When does the event start?

  • Racing takes place from 3pm - 4:30pm on Friday and Saturday
  • The official viewing area will be open for fans to enjoy from 2pm to 5:30pm on Friday and Saturday

What happens if the event is cancelled?
Should SailGP cancel the event, refunds will be issued at the place of

Will this event take place rain or shine?
This event is scheduled to take place rain or shine. In the event of adverse
weather conditions please check the sailgp.com/cowes website for updates.

What are the Public Restroom locations?
Portable toilets will be available on site. The site map will be posted online one month prior to the event date.

What can I bring on site?
The following items are allowed

  • Refillable water bottles, empty drinking container (e.g. Nalgene
  • and Kanteen water bottles.)
  • Blankets and picnic rugs
  • Backpacks and handbags

What is not allowed?
Prohibited items include:

  • Weapons of any kind
  • Illegal substances
  • Alcohol
  • Glass of any kind
  • Video equipment (no video recording will be allowed)
  • Professional still camera equipment with detachable lens
  • longer than 2 inches, tripods, big zooms, or commercial use rigs.

  • Audio recording equipment
  • Bicycles inside
  • Skateboards, scooters or personal motorized vehicles

Where can I park?
Public parking is limited in Cowes. A parking map will be available on
sailgp.com/cowes one month prior to the event date.

Where is the taxi pick-up & drop off for each area?
Pick up & drop off map to be released one month prior to the event date.

Is there bicycle parking?
Yes, prior to entering the gates at The Village

If I don’t have a ticket where can I see the race?
There will be a free to enter viewing area where you can watch the racing
but this area will not have the ticketed content. For on-air broadcast, this
information will be announced via website or social.

Will there be food at the official viewing area?
Yes, food and beverages will be available for purchase.

What hours will the official viewing area be open?
Race Village will be open from 2pm - 5:30pm for both days of the race.

What is the best public transit route to the official viewing area?
We encourage public transportation to the site. Parking is very limited at the event site. Please take the Red Jet from Southampton and walk or taxi to the event site. If you’re coming from the Island please use one of the public car parks in Cowes and walk to the site.

Are dogs allowed?
Service animals that assist with disabilities will be allowed.

Are water stations available?
Yes there will be water stations available at the official viewing area so
please bring your own refillable water bottle.

SailGP will be working with Blue Funnel Cruises to provide spectators with an official on water viewing experience at the Cowes SailGP event.

Where do we meet to board the boats?
Southampton: T2 Ferry terminal, Town Quay, Southampton. SO14 2AQ
Trinity Landing: Trinity Landing, The Parade, Cowes PO31 7QS

What time do we board and how long will we be on the water?
Boarding will be at 12:30PM in Southampton and at 2:15PM at Trinity
Landing . The drop off after racing will be at 4:40PM at Trinity Landing and 6:15PM
in Southampton. Please be sure to plan extra time for arrival and boarding.

How do I get to on water official spectator pick up points?
Trinity Landing: Trinity Landing is in Cowes on the Isle of Wight if you are
coming from the mainland you will need to take the Red Jet to West Cowes and
walk to Trinity Landing, which is a ten minute walk.
Southampton: The Southampton boarding is next to the Red Jet terminal
so follow signs for this and at the terminal you will see the ‘Hythe Ferry’ dock, this is where you will be picked up.

What is prohibited to be brought onto the boat?

  • Drones
  • Alcohol, this must be purchased on board
  • Pets (other than trained assistance animals such as a guide dog)
  • Drugs and illicit substances.
  • Weapons.
  • SailGP does not take responsibility for confiscated items.

What payment methods are taken on board?
You can pay for food and drinks with cash or card. They do not take American

What food and drinks are served on board?
A menu will be published one month before the event, which will include
light lunch options like sandwiches and snacks, soft drinks and a licensed bar all to be purchased on board.

Is there wheelchair access to board the vessel?
Wheelchair users can board the vessel in Southampton via a ramp only. The
boarding location at Trinity Landing in Cowes has steps and therefore no access to wheelchairs.

Please dress warmly; we recommend bringing a jacket, layers and suncream.
