Cowes SailGP Ticket Refund Policy – 2019

Definitions
In this Policy: the “First Race” is defined as the starting sequence completing and one competing yacht crossing the start line.

1.0 Refund Policy

1.1 Race Village General Admission

  • 100% refund or replacement ticket for an alternative day (at the discretion of SailGP) if either the Race Village doesn’t open or is open for less than 2 hours.
  • 0% refunds if the races are postponed or cancelled on the attendance day but the Race Village remains open.

1.2 Grandstand

Single race day tickets

  • 100% refund if Race Village doesn’t open.
  • 100% refund if Grandstand opens, but event is abandoned before First Race is completed.
  • 0% refund if Grandstand opens and first race takes place.

Weekend tickets
Refunds will be paid pro-rata if cancellation happens on one or more of the days of scheduled racing.

1.3 Spectator boat program

SailGP Cruise Select (CS) and SailGP Cruise Premier (CP)

Single race day tickets

  • 100% refund if Spectator Boat doesn’t leave dock.
  • 75% refund if Spectator Boat leaves dock, but event is abandoned before First Race is completed (unless the local boat operator decides, in its absolute discretion and after leaving the dock, that a leisure excursion of 3 hours should take place as a replacement for no racing taking place).
  • 0% refund if Spectator Boat leaves dock and first race takes place.

Weekend tickets
Refunds will be paid pro-rata if cancellation happens on one or more of the days.

SailGP Private Cruise
For all services booked through the official Charter Boat Partners ‘Solent Events’ and ‘Marine events’ the partners refund terms apply.

1.4 Sponsor Hospitality

SailGP Adrenaline Lounge (AL)

Single day tickets

  • 100% refund if AL doesn’t open.
  • 0% refund if AL opens, but event is abandoned before First Race is completed.
  • 0% refund if AL opens and first race takes place.

Weekend tickets
Refunds will be paid pro-rata if cancellation happens on one or more of the days of scheduled racing.

Note: SailGP reserves the right to cancel or close, or make changes to the opening times, dates and places of the SailGP facilities and spectator boat program and to the times of the racing.


Ticket refund process

Guests who have purchased SailGP Grandstand tickets for Saturday will be offered the following options:

  1. Transfer tickets to the SailGP Grandstand for Sunday 11 August. These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until the Grandstand reaches capacity. To transfer your ticket:
    Step 1 - Log into your Universe account. If you do not remember your password, you can reset it here.

Step 4 - Select ‘MORE’ from the drop down and select ‘contact host’

Step 5 - From the message modal that appears, enter any additional information, if needed, and click 'Send'.

Customers who checked out as a guest and who do not hold a Universe account will need to contact cowes@sailgp.com.

  1. Ticket upgrade to Sunday’s Cruise Premier, SailGP’s all-inclusive, premium on-water experience with exclusive access to a dedicated prime viewing area, closer than any other spectators on the race course perimeter. This will be offered at a discounted rate of £40 (face value of £195). You can find out more about Cruise Premier here. To receive the exclusive upgrade follow this link.*

  2. Full refund as per the Cowes SailGP Ticket Refund Policy. Universe account holders can request a refund via their account and are recommended to request their refund prior to the originally scheduled start time of the Saturday event in order to receive funds in an expedited manner. Customers who checked out as a guest and who do not hold a Universe account will need to contact cowes@sailgp.com.**

Please note, you will need to present your original Saturday SailGP Grandstand ticket alongside your Cruise Premier Upgrade ticket to access the on-water experience. Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until Cruise Premier reaches capacity.

Guests requesting a full refund who do not hold a Universe account will be contacted by SailGP within 3 business days. A refund takes 5-8 business days to process.
