New York City wears many crowns, global trendsetter, epicenter of the arts, architectural hotspot and dining capital of the world. But one it has not worn before is host venue for the world’s fastest racing on water.
This summer the iconic metropolis will serve as the backdrop for New York SailGP, a new, global sports championship featuring six nations going head-to-head on identical, supercharged foiling
New York SailGP will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 21-22, on the lower Hudson River and fans will be able to watch the spectacle from the Official Race Village located at Brookfield Place or get even closer to the action through one of the on-water hospitality options.
The Hudson River, known for the changing wind shifts through the Manhattan skyscrapers, strong currents and tidal flow, will test the world-class athletes to their limits.
This will be a weekend experience not to be missed. The teams will put the old New York City adage to the test, if they can make it here they will certainly be in good stead for the remaining events in SailGP Season 1.
