Youth
Bill spent his summers in the junior sailing program at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, working his way up the program as fast as his instructors would allow. After a successful junior racing career, highlighted by representing Canada at the ISAF Volvo Youth Worlds in 2005, he moved into sailing 49ers.
Career
As a member of the Canadian National Team from 2009 to 2012, he was a three-time Canadian National 49er Champion, as well as the 2009 49er North American Champion. After his stint on the Canadian National Team, he transitioned into sailing professionally in 2012. Over a decade of experience as a professional, he has garnered a reputation among his co-workers as a skilled, hard-working and reliable teammate. He has enjoyed success working for several teams, sailing everything from C-Class Catamarans to Melges 24s and TP 52s. His professional career highlights include a 2018 Melges 24 North American Tour overall win and 2019 Peters & May Around Antigua Race Line Honours and 1st IRC Overall.
Personal
When he is not sailing he enjoys spending time at his farm with his wife Alex and his rescue hound Boone.
