Jonas Høgh-Christensen represented Denmark at four Olympic Games from 2004-16, including at London 2012, where he won the silver medal, narrowly missing out on the gold to British sailor and fellow SailGP athlete Sir Ben Ainslie.
Høgh-Christensen has won five world championship medals – including two golds – in one of the most difficult Olympic sailing disciplines, the men’s singlehanded Finn class.
Envisioning a second career outside of racing, and while balancing the dedication required to become one of the top sailors in the world, Høgh-Christensen earned a master’s degree in marketing economics from the Copenhagen Business School. He spent seven years across marketing, commercial and operations at Live Nation, the world’s premier live event entertainment company, eventually leading the company’s entity in Denmark. Høgh-Christensen also co-founded Boatflex, Northern Europe’s largest peer-to-peer boat rental platform.
As manager of the Denmark SailGP Team, Høgh-Christensen will combine his business acumen with his high-performance sports experience to help guide the Danish crew to a memorable debut in Season 2 and contribute to the country’s rich heritage in the sport.
