SailGP
Joining the ROCKWOOL Denmark SailGP Team ahead of its debut campaign in Season 2, Rasmus Køstner had experience starting a team from scratch and, combined with his experience sailing a multitude of classes, he played an integral role in the crew’s early development.

Youth
Køstner's passion for the sport was ignited at an early age from sailing with his family, eventually starting to race competitively at the age of seven. He quickly grew an interest in match racing and captured several youth national championships in Denmark.

Career
Following several youth national championship titles in Denmark, he joined forces with Jes Gram-Hansen and started to climb to the top of the ISAF World Match Racing rankings, eventually earning his place on the World Match Race Tour and RC44 circuit.

Having gained critical match racing experience, Køstner joined the Italian challenger – Team Mascalzone Latino Capitalia – for the 32nd America’s Cup in Valencia, Spain in 2007. The following year, he joined Ericsson Racing Team as tactician for the in-port races during the grueling 2008-09 Volvo Ocean Race.

He shifted once again as the general focus in professional sailing moved toward high-performance multihull sailing, joining his former teammate Hansen to start the SAP Extreme Sailing Team that finished second in the 2015 Extreme Sailing Series, before taking the title in 2017.
