SailGP
Stuart Bithell joined the new Germany SailGP Team as Wing Trimmer for Season 4, having raced with Great Britain in Season 1 as Flight Controller and Switzerland in Season 3 as Wing Trimmer.

Youth
Bithell started sailing at the age of seven at Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club in the Northwest of England, although the first of his sailing years were mostly spent upside down in the harbour! Luckily, under the guidance of his father and inspired by his national championship-winning uncle, he managed to spend more time right-side up and competing in club racing competitions. From there, Bithell went on to become part of the established Royal Yachting Association youth and junior program.

Career
Bithell progressed through the ranks to represent Team GB at two Olympic games. At the London 2012 Olympic Games, he won a silver medal with Luke Patience in the Olympic 470 class. Post London 2012, he switched to the high-speed 49er, campaigning for Rio 2016, but missed out on selection. In October 2019 he teamed up with Helm, Dylan Fletcher and the team were selected to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The duo made Team GB Olympic history, winning Great Britain's first ever men's 49er sailing gold medal. Months later, Bithell was made an MBE in the 2022 New Year Honours for services to sailing.

Personal
Bithell feels most comfortable on the sea, loving moth sailing and winging, although he has been known to dabble in the odd racket sport.

His biggest aim in life is to be a single-digit golf player by the time he retires.
