Sir Ben Ainslie is the most successful Olympic sailor of all time, having competed and medalled at five Olympic Games. In his debut at the 1996 Summer Olympics, he won a silver medal at the age of 19 and went on to establish himself as the world’s best competitor by winning consecutive gold medals at the next four Games (2000-2012).

With an eye on his next challenge, Ainslie joined ORACLE TEAM USA as tactician in its defense of the 34th America’s Cup, proving instrumental in one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history.

Ainslie is now the team principal and skipper of Britain’s America’s Cup team. The team won the 2015-2016 Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series and in 2017, he led his British challenger to compete in the 35th America’s Cup in Bermuda. Ainslie continues to lead INEOS TEAM UK in its attempt to win the 36th America’s Cup in Auckland in 2021 while joining SailGP for its second season. With the fastest sail racing boats in the world, SailGP is the perfect platform for Ainslie to sharpen his racing skills.
