SailGP
Antonio ‘Ñeti’ Cuervas-Mons signed for Spain SailGP Team for Season 2, joining Mateu Barber, Joan Cardona and fellow new arrival Lucas Trittel as grinder.

Youth
Born in 1981, Ñeti started sailing at the age of 10 in his lifelong club, the Real Club Marítimo de Santander, and like many who start out in the sport of sailing, the Optimist was his first boat.

Career
Throughout his senior career, Ñeti has sailed in many different classes. Among those are dinghy sailing - Vaurien and Snipe; Olympic sailing - he was a member of the Spanish pre-Olympic team in the Tornado class; and cruising sailing - IMS, Platú 25, Tom 28 and Swan 39. He has also sailed in boats such as the Maxis, IMOCA Open 60 and the spectacular Extreme 40.

He has taken part in the Volvo Ocean Race on four occasions and also raced the Rolex Sydney-Hobart, which he won twice in 2016 and 2017.

The TP52 class is also known to Ñeti as he has competed for four seasons aboard the Spanish “Bribón” in the prestigious Med Cup Circuit
