Nicole van der Velden

Nicole van der Velden has made her mark in the world of sailing with notable participations in various championships and international competitions. From the 2020 and 2019 49er FX World Championships, where she placed fourteenth, to her participation in the 2016 Rio Olympics in the Nacra 17 class, where she reached sixteenth place, winning two races. Her trajectory is an example of dedication and commitment to the sport. Her goal in the future is clear: to represent Spain in the Olympic Games.

Originally from Aruba, a small island in the Dutch Caribbean, Nicole had a childhood marked by closeness to the sea and sailing, thanks to her father's passion for the sport. From a young age, she sailed with him, exploring the waters. As part of the Spanish SailGP team, Nicole brings her experience and skill as a strategist.
