SailGP
Season three will be Eliot Merceron’s first-time racing on the SailGP circuit.
Youth
Merceron spent his first years growing up on the sea, living with his parents on a boat in the Caribbean. He started sailing competitively in the Optimist dinghy aged Nine. At 15 he moved into the Laser and went on to achieve 3rd place finishes at World and European Youth Laser Championship events.
Career
Merceron has campaigned for two Olympic campaigns in the Laser dinghy: Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. He placed 15th at the Tokyo Olympic Test Event in 2019, finished within top 15 at World Cup events and within the top 10 at European Championships. He was part of Team Switzerland in the Star Sailor League. Merceron also has a master’s degree in Engineering.

He enjoys anything and everything that has a link to the ocean! From freediving and spearfishing, to foiling and cruising.
