Season three will be Julien Rolaz’s first-time racing on the SailGP circuit.
Rolaz started sailing age eight, first racing in the Optimist dinghy before moving into the 420 class to compete at National and International Regattas. Alongside sailing, Rolaz practiced several sports including as skiing, tennis, judo and swimming. He competed in both judo and swimming competitions and finished competitive sailing aged 17 to focus on rugby.
Alongside competitive racing, Rolaz is Co-Founder of Winatypic (grappe and apple cider), co-owner of his family’s winery - Domaine de Chantegrive and a part time student in Oenology (winemaking). He also worked as research assistant in wine economics (IMB-HEG Geneva) and currently completing a Pre-Master’s degree in Oenology. Rolaz also has a bachelor’s degree in international business management and Commodity Trading.
Rolaz lives at 140% between his studies for work, sport, and sailing! He is entrepreneurial, passionate about wine making and sport.
