SailGP
Nathalie Brugger first stepped onboard a F50 in Cadiz at the Spain Sail Grand Prix event, to train with the Swiss team in the strategist role.
Youth
Growing up from 8 to 14 years old, Brugger sailed the optimist. She went onto sail the double handed 420 before moving into the 470 class.
Career
Brugger is a three-time Olympian; Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016. She is also a Nacra17 World Championshp Medalist and World Cup Medalist in the Laser Radial and Nacra 17 classes. For the Tokyo 2022 Games, she supported fellow Swiss SailGP athlete, Maud Jayet, as her coach, during Jayet's first Olympic campaign.
Outside of dinghy sailing, she was boat captain for the Mapfre’s M32 catamaran, for their guest speed experience’ programme during the Volvo Ocean Race and has raced with many all-female teams including M32 World Match racing tour with Team Magenta Project and Tour de France à la voile Team La Boulangère. She has sailed with Realteam on the D35 and GC32, and sailed/team manager on D35 Okalys.
Brugger also has a Master of Sciences and works as a personal trainer.
Personal
Bruggers hobbies include wing foiling, cycling, hiking, surfing and paddle boarding. She also loves the snow enjoying snowboarding, skiing, ski touring and cross country skiing.
