SailGP
Nathan Outteridge has been supporting Swiss SailGP Team in a number of roles since Plymouth in Season 3 - sailing advisor, strategist, coach and co driver sharing the role at times with Sebastien Schneiter.
From Christchurch Season 4, Schneiter will step back to fully focus on his Olympic campaign and Outteridge will lead the team on the water as driver, for the remaining five events.

Outteridge is one of the most experienced sailors to race in the league and was part of the original test team helping to develop the revolutionary F50 class. He was formerly the driver and CEO of Japan SailGP Team.

Youth
Sailing is in Outteridge’s blood. From the age of four, he got the bug for the sport from his parents and has even sailed alongside his sister, Haylee, winning the silver medal at the 2019 world championships in the Nacra 17.

Career
In a career spanning nearly two decades, Outteridge has become one of the most successful competitors in the sport, racking up 19 world championship medals across a variety of classes – including the Moth, 29er, 49er, Farr 40 and Nacra 17.

Teaming up with Great Britain SailGP Team athlete Iain Jensen, Outteridge won a gold medal at the London Olympics in the 49er class, subsequently winning the silver four years later in Rio.

In 2012, he joined Artemis Racing ahead of the 34th America’s Cup and remained with the team through the 35th America’s Cup, losing to Emirates Team New Zealand.

Personal
Outteridge is never far from the water, whether it be sailing, kite surfing or windsurfing.
