With only a few months to go before SailGP Season 3, every training day will count to make the young Swiss team as competitive as possible. Nils Theuninck will contribute by using his expertise from the Olympic circuit and his foiling skills learned along the years with the Team Tilt program.

Living in close proximity to water, sailing has been part of Theuninck's life from a young age. He made his start on the Optimist, which he quickly outgrew. He then moved to the ILCA 4 where he was crowned U16 World Champion in 2011. He kept climbing his way through the ILCA classes until he moved into the Finn after a Bronze medal in the 2016 ILCA 7 Youth Europeans.

Since joining TeamTilt in 2016, Theuninck and the team has brought home a bronze medal at the Red Bull Youth America's Cup in 2017, a Gold medal at the GC32 Worlds in 2018, and also taken the Silver at the GC32 Worlds in 2019.

Theuninck focused all his remaining time on his Finn Olympic compaign toward Tokyo 2020. He succesfully managed to make his way to the top of the Finn World Rankings in 2021 and made a career-best performance by bringing an historic Bronze medal to Switzerland at the 2021 Finn Europeans. Unfortunately, he just missed his Olympic ticket by a narrow margin.

Away from sailing, Theuninck is starting a Masters in Chiropractics.
